Publication Ethics

Breakthroughs in Informatics, Networking, Algorithms, Research, and Yield (BINARY) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The editorial board, reviewers, authors, and editors are expected to adhere to the ethical guidelines described below, which are in line with the COPE Code of Conduct.

  1. Responsibilities of Authors
  • Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism.
  • The manuscript must not be under consideration elsewhere or previously published.
  • All sources of data, funding, and contributions must be properly acknowledged.
  • Any form of data fabrication, falsification, or unethical behavior is strictly prohibited.
  • Authors must clearly state any conflicts of interest.
  • If human or animal subjects are involved, authors must provide ethical clearance statements.
  1. Responsibilities of Editors
  • Editors are responsible for making fair and objective decisions regarding submitted manuscripts.
  • The editorial team will ensure that every manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review process.
  • Editors must maintain confidentiality of all information related to the submitted manuscript.
  • Editors will take necessary action when ethical complaints or allegations of misconduct are reported.
  1. Responsibilities of Reviewers
  • Reviewers must provide constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback.
  • Reviewers should maintain confidentiality and not use information from the manuscript for personal advantage.
  • If a conflict of interest exists, the reviewer should decline the invitation to review.
  • Reviewers must notify the editors if they suspect plagiarism, duplicate submission, or unethical content.
  1. Plagiarism and Misconduct Policy
  • All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
  • A similarity score of more than 20% (excluding references) may lead to immediate rejection.
  • Cases of misconduct (e.g., duplicate submission, authorship manipulation, unethical research practices) will be handled in accordance with COPE procedures.
  1. Retraction Policy
  • Articles may be retracted if:
    • Serious errors are found post-publication.
    • Evidence of misconduct or unethical research is verified.
    • Plagiarism or data falsification is confirmed.
  1. Publisher’s Responsibility
  • The journal publisher will ensure the availability, accessibility, and integrity of published articles.
  • The publisher supports the ethical policies of the journal and ensures compliance with internationally recognized standards.

Author Guidelines

1. Manuscript Types

  • Original Research Article (4,000–7,000 words)
  • Review Article (max. 8,000 words)
  • Short Communication (max. 3,000 words)

2. Language and Format

  • Manuscripts must be written in indonesian or English using correct grammar and scientific terminology.
  • Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Page size: A4, margin 2 cm on all sides
  • Font: Arial, 11 pt, 1.15 spacing

3. Manuscript Structure

  • Title (max. 20 words, clear and informative)
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s) (include email of corresponding author)
  • Abstract (max. 200 words, without references or abbreviations)
  • Keywords (3–6 relevant terms)
  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results and Discussion (combined or separate)
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgments (optional)
  • References (80% from the last 10 years)

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially and cited in the text.
  • Each figure and table must have a descriptive title and legend.
  • Figures should be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Use standard formats (e.g., JPEG, PNG for figures).

5. References

  • Use APA Style (7th edition).
  • Use reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote).
  • Include DOI for each reference if available.
  • Example:

6. Ethical Statement

  • Authors must declare that the manuscript is original, not under review elsewhere, and free of plagiarism.
  • If the study involves human or animal subjects, ethical approval must be clearly stated.

7. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the OJS submission system.
  • Authors must complete all metadata fields during submission.
  • Corresponding authors will receive review results within 4–6 weeks.

8. Article Processing Charge (APC)

  • Currently, no APC is charged for submission, review, or publication.

9. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright.
  • All published articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
